Take some time to get to know Molly McCarty, Sr. Social Account Manager at 3Q Digital working out of our Bay Area offices.
What’s the first metric you check when you start the day?
CPA… always CPA.
What’s one metric you rarely bother to check?
CPM; I focus more on CPC.
What is your favorite advertising campaign?
Ben & Jerry’s. They’re super funny and the creative is always on point.
What’s one marketing lesson you wished you had learned earlier?
If an ad used to perform well, and then starts to slow for apparently no reason, people are likely hiding it and Facebook is increasing your CPCs. Simply rebuild it and performance will go back to normal.
What one quality do you think is most important in successful digital marketers today?
Be both analytical and creative.
What is your favorite thing to brag about at 3Q?
Unlimited PTO, and the snacks.
Who is the unsung hero of your team?
Molly Parker. She shares my name and doesn’t seem to care. She also is doing a great job and is supporting us on so many huge accounts (Square, Caviar, BetterHelp, and more).
What’s the best part of your office?
Oakland – it’s close to my home. The water machine is way better than the one in San Francisco.
Care to share your favorite spot to work from home?
I hate working from home.
What does 3Q’s culture mean to you?
Everyone works hard, but we also enjoy each other’s company. What could be better?
What advice do you have for someone who wants to work at 3Q?
When you’re interviewing, make sure you really express how proactive you are.
Which of 3Q’s core values is most important to you, and why?
Owning it. I love when people take a task, make it their own, dominate it, and are proud of their work (as they should be!).
If you had to switch offices, which office would you pick and why?
Vermont. I love the fall leaves, and I think Hillary is really cool*. If not Vermont, possibly Ada’s home because she has a lot of pets.
*Editor: Hillary is very cool.
What is your motivation to come into work every day?
I don’t have a lot of food at home, so I rely on the office snacks.
What has been your favorite perk item/activity?
The San Francisco office opening party.
What trips have you gone on/do you plan to go on with your unlimited PTO?
My mom and I are going to Spain together in February.
Would you rather fight 100 duck sized horses, or one horse sized duck?
One horse-sized duck, obviously.
Hot dogs or hamburgers?
What is on your bucket list?
Run a half marathon with Miguel (happening this December).
What’s your favorite thing on your desk?
Diego gave me Budweiser sunglasses once…those are on my desk.
What is your favorite thing to do outside of work?
Hang out with my brother.
