Get to know Jen Stanisa, Training Manager out of our San Diego office.

What is your favorite advertising campaign?

One of my favorites is the Snickers “You’re Not You When You’re Hungry” commercials. I can relate – I can get “hangry” at times.

 

What’s one marketing lesson you wished you had learned earlier?

Avoid any knee-jerk reactions in managing accounts. Rely on logic and data to make decisions, and be proactive in guiding conversations on strategy.

 

Who is the unsung hero of your team?

I’ve had the pleasure of working under several different managers at 3Q and all of them have been great, but I particularly enjoyed working under Sana Ansari. She challenges her peers and direct reports to not only innovate with developing process but also commit to the execution. The training team has accomplished so much this year and has shared success and recognition under Sana’s direction.

 

What’s the best part of your office? (and specify the office)

In the San Diego office, we love our dogs. We will even take other people’s dogs into the office because we are that obsessed. It’s a nice break in the day to play with them, and it saves money on dog walkers.

 

What does 3Q’s culture mean to you?

To me the perks at 3Q are great, but what really drives our culture is the thought leadership and team support. Everyone in the organization constantly looks to do things better whether they are in client services or operations. We’ve experienced amazing success because individuals took the initiative to become experts in the space and in turn disseminated their knowledge with others in the organization. I’ve worked with some of the smartest people at 3Q, and I am constantly growing and learning every day in my career.

 

What advice do you have for someone who wants to work at 3Q? 

People come to 3Q from all different backgrounds. Those who are most successful at 3Q are willing to adapt to constant change, hold themselves accountable and never settle for mediocre results.

 

Which of 3Q’s core values is most important to you, and why? 

Act for the greater good. This value is particularly important to me because I’m passionate about training and employee experience. When you jump into agency life in a dynamic and constantly evolving field, it can be overwhelming at times, especially for those who are just starting a career in digital marketing. We embrace mentorship at 3Q, and it’s a cool thing to watch someone develop their skills and move into different roles in the company.

 

If you had to switch offices, which office would you pick and why?

I actually did switch offices a couple of years ago. I transferred to the San Diego office from Chicago and while Chicago will always have a special place in my heart, San Diego is where it’s at. Now if we open an office in Vancouver, that might be a different story . . .

 

What has been your favorite perk item/activity?

We have done many fun/weird things for our office perks, but my all-time favorite would have to be the catamaran excursion. We cruised around the harbor at sunset and had some interesting stories involving certain people who opted to dress like captains.

 

What trips have you gone on/do you plan to go on with your unlimited PTO?

I’m getting married next year, so I’m excited to go on our honeymoon. We are thinking of traveling somewhere in South East Asia. The unlimited PTO is also nice around the holidays when we travel back to the Midwest to spend time with our families.

 

Hot dogs or hamburgers?

Cheeseburgers on a Hawaiian roll. It’s the perfect combination.

 

What is on your bucket list? 

I’ve been snorkeling but I would like to be more adventurous and scuba with my fiancé. I think I must have watched Jaws one too many times because it freaks me out.

 

What is your favorite thing to do outside of work? 

I love to spend hours in the kitchen cooking. It is so therapeutic for me. Nothing feels better than making a meal from scratch for the people you love.
