Tuesday it was announced that social networking site, Twitter, is currently testing a new profile redesign. The news goes that Twitter’s revamp will be evocative of fellow social networking sites, Facebook and Google+.

What does this mean? Twitter is kicking the vertical timeline design to the curb and adopting a design that reflects more of a prominence on photos and content cards. In addition, they’ve upped the header photo from the original 1252×626 to 1500×1500 and placed it in the upper-lefthand corner. Right adjacent (rather than to the left) to the header photo is the tweet count, photos/videos section, following/followers, favorites, and lists.

Per Bloomberg, “[Twitter] has said that changes to its product this year will help woo more people to adopt and stick with the service.”

Be on the lookout, as it’s still unclear when these changes will be available to the majority of Tweeters.
