Linkedin Advertising, Part 4: Reports

Advertising on LinkedIn? Better get used to the above dashboard. You’ll be seeing a lot of it. It’s a pretty useful quick visualization of the different metrics and date ranges that are going to be useful for your marketing efforts.
By now, you’ve caught up with ad types, targeting, and why you should be advertising on LinkedIn in the first place. Now we’ll cover reporting.
There are two main divisions in the reporting tab that you’ll have to work with: Ad Performance and Campaign Performance.
Ad Performance gives you a customizable date range and allows you to view by day, month, and year. Unfortunately there’s not auto-report functionality built in yet. At any rate, you’ll want to use these reports to get a glimpse of granular performance, especially if you are reporting on conversions in GA using utm parameters. Additionally, exporting this report includes the ad URL, so you can easily match it up to the external lead data.
Again, campaign level reports are customizable by date range and allow you to view by day, month, and year. You also can’t have campaign performance reports scheduled to auto-report. This report is a very useful way of getting a high-level picture of account performance, but little more than that.
