This is the subhead for the blog post
Our Humans of 3Q series continues this week with Will Cozart, Account Lead, out of our Raleigh office! Get to know Will below:
Explain your role at 3Q in 3 sentences or fewer:
As an Account Lead, I guide the strategic direction of my accounts; ensuring projects stay on track, the accounts move forward, and performance is improving. Account Leads are able to take a step back from the day-to-day account management in order to do deeper performance analysis and help push junior team members in growing their skill sets.
What is one marketing lesson you wish you had learned earlier?
Learnings from one channel can almost always be applied to another.
Tell us about your morale associate (pet):
I have a fish named Petey. He doesn’t get out much, but he’s always happy to see the guy that brings him food.
When coworkers from other offices come to visit, what’s one thing they absolutely have to do in your city?
They have to eat barbecue. My office-mates may think I’m a snob when it comes to the delicious smoked meat, but the only way to get it is Eastern North Carolina style. Pulled pork with vinegar-based sauce or bust!
What’s something that makes your office cooler than the other 3Q offices?
The Raleigh office is small relative to the other 3Q offices, so we have a few individual offices in a coworking space. It’s interesting interacting with people in totally different lines of work within the same office everyday. Plus, there’s always free food and drinks.
What’s been the coolest thing you’ve done with your unlimited PTO?
I recently took a short-notice trip to Thailand! We visited temples, hung out with elephants, ate great food, and of course, explored the amazing islands and their beaches.
Have you participated in 3Q3%? If so, what’s been your favorite experience?
The Raleigh office came together to win the 3Q Charity Miles competition, where miles of activity (jogging, biking, etc.) were rewarded with charity donations. The winning office received funds to donate to the charity of our choice (and a pizza party), which we chose to donate Hurricane Florence victims, many of whom live in our state.
What sets 3Q apart from other agencies in the industry?
3Q does a great job of empowering every team member. No matter a coworker’s role, they are encouraged to contribute ideas and challenge the status quo, even if it may be “above” or “below” their stated role. New ideas are always welcomed, and great ideas are rewarded.
How do you spend your free time?
I like being outside. Whether that be catching a show, searching for fish on the boat, playing golf, skiing, or drinking a beer with some good company, I’m happiest in the sun.
What do you think has been the most interesting change in the marketing industry this year?
The increased adoption and integration of machine learning and AI. Just about every month we hear of another platform coming out with new and/or improved tools using machine learning to make marketers’ dollars work harder. Every data point available on a particular user and their habits is valuable, and putting all of this data to use makes marketing budgets more efficient while freeing up account management hours to focus on driving higher-level strategy.
