This is the subhead for the blog post

Our Humans of 3Q series continues this week with Sora Stoll, Payroll and Benefits Manager, out of our San Mateo office! Get to know Sora below:

Explain your role at 3Q in 3 sentences or fewer:

Everything that has to do with 3Q employees’ payroll and benefits! I make sure everyone gets paid on time (to be real simple) and that everyone at 3Q gets enrolled on our great benefits and perks!

When coworkers from other offices come to visit, what’s one thing they absolutely have to do in your city?

Grab a boba drink, which you can get from 5-6 different boba cafes in the neighborhood, and walk the Japanese garden in San Mateo park!

What sets 3Q apart from other agencies in the industry?

I am sure many of us have already said this… but people. People here are amazing! Sometimes work can be difficult, but the people at 3Q make it all worthwhile.

What’s something that makes your office cooler than the other 3Q offices?

San Mateo office might not be the newest nor the coolest, but it has that warm, cozy, and welcoming feel to it. We also have a nap room!

Tell us about your morale associate (pet):

Unfortunately, San Mateo office isn’t a pet-friendly office, but I get to work next to my puppy when I work from home. Her name is Moni, and she is half chihuahua and half mini-pin, who mostly distracts me from work, but gives me a reason to work harder (so I can afford her vet bills)! We adopted her last year in July, so it’s only been a bit more than 1 year, but feels like 5 years…haha. It took her almost 6 months to be comfortable around me, so she is very shy and scared of all things. But when she is not scared, she is the sweetest little pup with lots of personality 😀

Proof of Moni’s ability to distract

What is the last thing that you read?

Who Moved My Cheese? This book was a gift from my classmate when I moved to the US 15 years ago. This hit hard in my heart, since everything was changing around me and I didn’t know what to do. This book helped me to accept the changes in life and in fact, turn those changes into opportunities. I am going through some changes now, so I went back and read it again, which I enjoyed again! So, if you are going through any changes in your life, or want something fun to read, I would definitely recommend it. It’s really easy to read too (and short)!

How do you spend your free time?

I love food and events- so I am always in the city looking to find new events, restaurants, parks (for Moni), and neighborhoods to explore.

What’s your next adventure?

My family lives in S. Korea, so I am visiting them for Thanksgiving! I can’t wait for some real Korean food. Also, I will be stopping at Hong Kong for a few days, so I am super-excited!

If you could choose any TV show or movie world to live in, what would it be?

Friends! I was 15 years old when I first moved to US, and the sitcom “Friends” is where I learned most of my English. I would love to be friends with all 6 of them and have some coffee at the Central Perk café. This is a secret, but I had a huge crush on Ross. HAHA

What sets 3Q apart from other agencies in the industry?

I think 3Q is an awesomely unique agency, but probably my favorite differentiator is in one of our core values, “Treat everyone like a client.” People really take that to heart here and it definitely makes a difference when you approach every situation with that type of mindset.

What’s been the coolest thing you’ve done with your unlimited PTO?

Traveling is definitely one of the best things! One of my bucket list items was to take a picture under the Eiffel Tower and last year, we were able to do just that!! The experience, view, and ambiance at the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre were so much more beautiful and amazing than I ever imagined.
