Our Humans of 3Q series continues this week with Mackenzie Purcell, Display Account Coordinator out of our Chicago office! Get to know Mackenzie below:
Explain your role at 3Q in 3 sentences or fewer:
I am an Account Coordinator for the Display team at 3Q.
How is 3Q different from other agencies you’ve worked at?
The culture. 3Q hands-down has one of the best company cultures I’ve experienced. I worked on the vendor side before joining 3Q and was hesitant to work at an agency; it’s so nice to work for an agency where the leadership actually cares about its employees.
What’s one marketing lesson you wished you had learned earlier?
The one “real world” lesson that I think everyone should know before starting their career is one of the many reasons I joined 3Q. One of our company core values is “treat everyone as a client.” I think that this is so important, especially in digital marketing. Things get hectic and it’s important to always remember to kill everyone with kindness (internally and externally).
What’s something that makes your office cooler than the other 3Q offices?
Although Chicago has a terrible winters, our office is still very fun and active! We are always planning events, even if it’s -10 degrees outside. This summer we rented a boat on Lake Michigan, which was awesome. We also have cold brew on tap and are a big group of foodies.
Tell us about your morale associate:
Sadly, I don’t have my own dog yet – but my parents have the cutest Yorkie that I consider my own. Her name is Lilly; she’s 5 pounds and has the longest legs you’ve ever seen.
What’s been the coolest thing you’ve done with your unlimited PTO?
My family rents a house in Watercolor (yep, that’s the name) every year. It’s a little beach town off the Gulf, one of my favorite places. My next big trip (hopefully) will be to Southeast Asia.
If you could choose any TV show or movie world to live in, what would it be?
Parks and Rec for the humor. I have watched the entire series countless times and still laugh out loud every single time.
If you were given an unlimited amount of money to invest in one upcoming or exciting marketing technology, what would it be?
Artificial Intelligence. I think that a lot of times when people hear the word “AI,” they are immediately creeped out or think that robots are taking over the world. What they don’t realize is that AI is going to help increase productivity in our careers and lives.
