Our Humans of 3Q series continues this week with Lisa Tran, Accounts Payable Specialist, out of our San Mateo office! Get to know Lisa below:
Explain your role at 3Q in 3 sentences or fewer:
As the Accounts Payable Specialist, I make sure vendors get paid for any services rendered. I also answer vendor inquiries, help reconcile our accounts, and take care of any other tasks that support the finance team.
What sets 3Q apart from other agencies in the industry?
3Q has the best people. Everyone is so inclusive and willing to help each other learn and grow.
When coworkers from other offices come to visit, what’s one thing they absolutely have to do in your city?
Eat some hot pot and drink some boba!!
Your team is hiring. What are the benefits for someone looking to join?
The people on the team are the best part…they will make you look forward to the next work day. We also get boba at least once a week! Sometimes we get it even twice a week if we’re lucky. The finance team pretty much runs on boba.
What’s been the coolest thing you’ve done with your unlimited PTO?
I just went on a trip to Bali and it was absolutely gorgeous! I relaxed on a beach while sippin’ on fresh coconut juice, went sightseeing, and ate some really delicious Indonesian food. My most memorable moment was while I was visiting the Monkey Forest, two monkeys decided to jump on me in an effort to steal my necklace (they didn’t though!).
What is your next adventure?
I really want to go to Japan for my next adventure. I want to relax in some hot springs, visit temples, and eat all the food there!!
Have you participated in 3Q3%? If so, what’s been your favorite experience?
The SM office recently went on a hiking trip on Angel Island! I don’t really hike so it was my first time, but I had a lot of fun.
How do you spend your free time?
I’ve been trying to cook more recently. The last thing I’ve made for the first time was radish kimchi, which turned out pretty good. I also like to eat out at new restaurants to try new things.
What is the last thing that you read?
My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She’s Sorry, by Fredrik Backman
If you could choose any TV show or movie world to live in, what would it be?
The Vampire Diaries.
What’s one life lesson you wish you’d learned earlier?
That you shouldn’t worry about what other people think of you so much. Just do what makes you happy!
