Our Humans of 3Q series continues this week with Katherine Dabrowski, Talent Acquisition, out of our Chicago office! Get to know Katherine below:

Explain why you’re a 3Qer in 3 sentences or fewer:

I have the privilege of being a positive force who leads people to the opportunity that will allow them to realize their goals and reach success with a career at 3Q! I also manage an amazing team of recruiters, drive our day-to-day recruiting operations and initiatives, and lead interview training for our managers.

What are some personal tips/tricks you have for working from home?

-Make and keep a schedule; it greatly helps to stay on track
-Schedule breaks! Seems silly when you’re at home to schedule a break, but keeping a schedule helps you avoid losing track of time, which happens a lot
-Get dressed, get out of jammies! Really helps to get into “work mode”
-Get on Slack or video chat with coworkers to prevent loneliness or from feeling isolated – get connected!

Have you participated in 3Q 3%? If so, what’s been your favorite experience?

I am proud to be part of a company that emphasizes giving back! My favorite 3Q3% event thus far was volunteering at the Paws shelter in Chicago! This shelter works hard to nurse animals back to great health and get them ready for adoption. I wish I could’ve taken all the pups home!

We’re all looking forward to getting back to the office. What’s something that makes your office cooler than the other 3Q offices?

We’re steps away from Millennium Park, Lake Michigan, and some of the hottest restaurants that offer killer views of the Windy City! We also have an underground escape from the bitter cold beneath our building; the Pedway’s underground paths lead to “L” stations, over 40 city blocks, and about 50 buildings in the Loop without having to go aboveground.

When coworkers from other offices come to visit, what’s one thing they absolutely have to do in your city?

Everyone says get your fill of deep-dish pizza, which is true, but a must-try is the Chicago thin-crust pizza we eat on a regular basis. If you’re a thrill seeker, an attraction not to be missed is the Sky Deck at the Sears (um, Willis) Tower to experience The Ledge! The Ledge offers views of up to 50 miles and four states, leaves you standing 103 floors above the river in an enclosed glass box that retracts off the building.

What 3Q initiative outside of your job description are you most proud of being a part of?

I love that 3Q is such a collaborative, team-focused environment. Even though we’re spread out across many offices, we have opportunities to work with others outside our department. I was really excited to work closely with our People and Culture team on revamping our on-boarding for new hires as well as redesigning our Culture Interviews!

Tell us about your morale associate (pet: if you have one).

My little prince is a Golden Retriever named Niko! Well not so little, he will be 6 years old this April and is a whole lot of fluff but he still is very much my baby. He is the boss of my house and is one of the most spoiled dogs on the planet, and he loves attention – LOTS of attention.

What sets 3Q apart from other agencies in the industry?

We’re relentless! We work with B2B, B2C, eComm, and lead gen clients across services including SEM, SEO, social advertising, display, mobile, analytics, CRO, creative, business strategy. We’re always growing and evolving!

How do you spend your free time?

There is so much to do and new things to try in a city like Chicago, I’m always exploring whether it’s summer or winter! I have a close knit family and love spending time with them, with my friends, and of course love pampering my golden nugget, Niko!

Your team is hiring. What are the benefits for someone looking to join?

3Q is great place to develop or further grow your career! We are growing in all areas and we invest in our employees, their training and development. We offer lots of opportunities for growth, support for working parents, and tons of perks and benefits!

What is your next adventure?

I am definitely planning a trip out to Sweden in the coming year! I’ve heard nothing but great things about how beautiful it is, but an added benefit is that my nephew plays soccer there. He’s living his dream, and I can’t wait to see him in his element!

If you could choose any TV show or movie world to live in, what would it be?

It’s so hard to choose just one, but Friends takes the cake! Who doesn’t want to hang out with friends in a cool city in your 20s trying to figure life out?

Throughout your career, who have been some of your biggest muses, supporters, and role models?

I’ve been very fortunate to have some great mentors along the way, but my first role model really was my mom. As a single mom raising three kids and working 2-3 jobs for as long as I can remember, she taught me from a young age that through hard work and perseverance, I can achieve anything I set my mind to!

What are your predictions for what will be trending in 2020?

Expanding on D&I initiatives to foster a sense of belonging in the workplace.
