This is the subhead for the blog post
Our Humans of 3Q series continues this week with Erica Settlecowski, Account Manager out of our New York City office! Get to know Erica below:
Explain your role in 3 sentences or less:
I optimize, scale, and strategize digital media plans for our clients. My day is equal parts team communication, client communication, account optimization, account planning, and problem solving.
What sets 3Q apart from other agencies in the industry?
3Q stays in a constant state of evolution, and the people who make up 3Q are consistently sharing new knowledge and expertise across channels. This “always-growing” culture is weaved into the strategies we bring to clients, and it pushes employees to be true leaders in their field of expertise.
Tell us about your moral associate (pet):
I have a Pitbull/Boxer/Mastiff/Ridgeback mix named Frankie who was rescued about 5 years ago. She loves to sleep in, cuddle, chase squirrels, and run around the beach. She’s also patient enough to endure birthday photoshoots!
What 3Q initiative outside of your job description are you most proud of being a part of?
I love being a Buddy to incoming 3Q-ers. I remember how nervous I was for my first day, so I try to make their transition into the company stress-free and enjoyable. It’s a lot of fun to get to know someone, take them out for lunch, and be their go-to person in the office during their first few weeks.
What’s been the coolest thing you’ve done with your unlimited PTO?
A few months ago, I flew to Greece with my best friend and traveled around the islands there. We did a lot of eating and a lot of napping on the beach. One of the coolest parts of this trip, however, was the week before- I spent the 5 days prior remotely working from 5 different countries- Los Angeles on Monday, Iceland on Tuesday, Stockholm on Wednesday, Budapest on Thursday, and Vienna on Friday. It was exhausting, and something I will 100% never do again, but it’s a fun story to tell.
If you could choose any TV show or movie world to live in, what would it be?
I think I would have to go with a Friends/Harry Potter hybrid world…getting to spend time with all my friends in NYC while having a few magical powers here and there would be fun. I think I would develop a spell to help me with all my reporting and bid optimizations 😉!
How do you spend your free time?
The fun thing about New York is that every day is a different adventure… well, it can be. My routine tends to stick to Monday-Friday where I start every morning at the gym, walk to work, and then generally head home to tackle the duties of adulting such as laundry, cleaning up, cooking, and most importantly, getting *at least* 8 hours of sleep. When I’m feeling wild, I throw in a happy hour, comedy show, or a little shopping. On the weekends, I love to try new restaurants, take trips out of the city, or picnic in Central Park. Now that it’s fall, I’ve been spending a lot of time outside of the city to go hiking, pick apples, and indulge in hot cider donuts.
What do you think has been the most interesting change in the marketing industry or in your channel this year?
Automation! Whether it be in the bid strategies we use, or processes to help us do our jobs more efficiently, automation is incorporated into several aspects of my day-to-day life. It’ll be interesting to see how our jobs evolve as automation becomes more effective and efficient.
