Our Humans of 3Q series continues this week with Cokie Henze, Senior Project Manager, out of our Austin office! Get to know Cokie below:
Explain your role at 3Q in 3 sentences or fewer:
I lead an amazing team of four project managers in 3Q’s Creative Services department. We ensure our teammates get all the resources that they need to knock out innovative creative on schedule and on budget!
What sets 3Q apart from other agencies in the industry?
WFH flexibility and working with such talented, supportive people.
What’s something that makes your office cooler than the other 3Q offices?
Our amazing Office Manager, Kelsey King! She is constantly taking care of us with delicious treats (often homemade), drinks, and fun games!
Your team is hiring. What are the benefits for someone looking to join?
We are a very collaborative, supportive team and are always looking to help team members grow professionally.
When coworkers from other offices come to visit, what’s one thing they absolutely have to do in your city?
Eat all the Tex-Mex you can! But really, there are so many wonderful things to do in Austin: BBQ, live music, breakfast tacos, boating on Lake Travis..I could go on and on!
What’s one marketing lesson you wish you’d learned earlier?
Test, test, test. Data is often downplayed on the creative side, but it can provide a lot of unbiased insights into why we do what we do.
What 3Q initiative outside of your job description are you most proud of being a part of?
3Q3% for sure. Feels great to give back to so many different organizations and help those in need.
What’s been your favorite 3Q3% experience?
Volunteering at the Austin Animal Shelter! One minute with those adorable pups just makes everything better.
How is 3Q different from other agencies you’ve worked at?
We love data and understand how it can really influence our clients’ performance.
Tell us about your morale associate (pet: if you have one).
Fondue is a 8-year-old(ish) pocket Pittie. Favorite activities include sleeping, snuggles and destroying stuffed animals. She is most famous for jumping from the third-story window of our Brooklyn apartment and only breaking a nail. Basically she is part cat.
What’s been the coolest thing you’ve done with your unlimited PTO?
Being able to take long weekends to host friends and family in town and to travel to see them as well. NYC is next – can’t wait!
How do you spend your free time?
My husband and I love to try out all the new restaurants and bars, see as much live music as possible, enjoy the car races at COTA, and genuinely just soak up all Austin has to offer!
What do you think has been the most interesting change in the marketing industry or in your channel this year?
Twitter’s announcement to ban political ads as we go into the 2020 election season. It will be very interesting to see if other platforms follow suit and how this will change how political ads are being promoted going forward.
If you were given an unlimited amount of money to invest into one upcoming or exciting marketing technology, what would it be?
Autonomous vehicle technology. I love driving but personally cannot wait to take the human element out of it!
If you could choose any TV show or movie world to live in, what would it be?
Toss-up between 30 Rock and Parks and Recreation.
What’s one life lesson you wish you’d learned earlier?
Listen more, speak less.
What are your predictions for what will be trending in 2020?
Fingers crossed we continue down the path of climate change regulation and increase awareness for what needs to be done to curb its effects.
What’s your favorite TED talk?
Dan Gilbert’s: The surprising science of happiness.
