Amazing, the things you see in the wild:
Yup: Google Shopping ads above regular paid ads. What does this mean? There are a few things we now need to be aware of because of this change (which is not consistent but suggests a new direction from Google):
1) Having Google Shopping ads on the top of the SERP pushes down the first 3 positions. This makes it more important to show for Google Shopping.
2) The ad in 4th position is now higher than the first-position ad.
3) On some screens, the organic listings won’t even be seen because they are pushed down by the ads
This new auction dynamic is not consistent across all searches, but it is something that is changing and shows that Google is placing more importance on Google Shopping.
