This is the subhead for the blog post
Take some time to get to know Joe Hall, Account Lead at 3Q Digital working out of our San Mateo office.
What one quality do you think is most important in successful digital marketers today?
The drive to continue to learn. If you can’t see yourself reading blogs or learning new strategies or platforms every week, then you’ll quickly stagnate. The digital space is just too fast for someone to remain an expert in the field without this quality.
What is your favorite thing to brag about at 3Q?
The people. It’s one of the reasons 3Q is such a strong agency and desirable place to work. We strive to hire the best and those who are here are highly driven, which keeps the standard of work where it should be.
Care to share your favorite spot to work from home?
My favorite spot would have to be my balcony. I use a small table and cushioned chair that is shaded most of the day. I find working a few hours of my day outside gives me a fresh perspective and renewed mind that you just can’t get from a cup of coffee (although this is a biased opinion as I don’t drink coffee).
What does 3Q’s culture mean to you?
3Q’s culture is one of transparency and empowerment. It’s rare to find a company (in-house or agency) that gives people of any age the opportunity to grow at limitless speeds. As someone who is highly driven, I have continued to be supported and directed within the company at all levels. While we work hard here at 3Q, the culture keeps us focused on a single goal of doing the best by our clients and supporting each other’s personal goals.
Which 3Q value do you most embody, and how do you embody it?
“Owning it” is a key value I keep close in mind for all my actions. I don’t believe someone can really succeed in any career without this. It takes on a lot of forms, from staying online late to keep in touch with a client traveling halfway around the world or helping another teammate on a campaign that has to go live at 12:01 that night. I believe that you have to stand by every action you make and take on the responsibility for it (good and bad). This quality continues to push me to always improve in every aspect of my personal and professional life.
What is your motivation to come into work every day?
There are many reasons, but at the core I’d say to take control of my life. I firmly believe in there being no free meals in life so the only way to make things happen is to step up to the plate and swing for the fences every day.
What trips have you gone on/do you plan to go on with your unlimited PTO?
My road trip from Santa Cruz all the way up through to Mendocino, California. It was amazing to visit many of the great towns that have made California what it is and see all the history. Often finding that my cell reception was nowhere to be found became a fun part of it too.
Hot dogs or hamburgers?
Hamburgers. As a novice chef, I’ve found there are so many things you can do to reinvent a hamburger over a hot dog. The best dishes are those that you can innovate the most with.
What is your favorite thing to do outside of work?
As much as I love technology, there’s no substitute for the outdoors. Whether it’s in a group or I’m hiking solo (not advised), getting out on the trails for a day or a week just can’t be matched.
