Take some time today to get to know Amanda Trieu, Visual Graphic Designer at 3Q Digital from our San Francisco office.
What’s the best part of your office? (and specify the office)
The best part of the San Francisco office is actually the building itself. I love how the walls are exposed concrete and how you can see the pipes and wires run along the ceiling. It has an urban and deconstructed feel to it. There are also many modern elements to this office, so there’s a nice juxtaposition going on.
If you had to switch offices, which office would you pick and why?
I would switch to New York. I’ve lived in California all my life, and getting out of state would be a nice change! Also, New York has amazing food.
What is your motivation to come into work every day?
As a designer, everyday we have many different types of tasks to do, be it creating display banners, Facebook banners, landing pages, or whitepapers. There’s always something new to do, and that keeps things interesting.
What has been your favorite perk item/activity?
My favorite perk activity would have to be the cruise! How lucky are we that we get to enjoy a nice sunny afternoon sailing around the bay amongst good company? The views were gorgeous, and it was pretty neat to see the Golden Gate Bridge from below. Also, let’s not forget about the open bar! It was awesome and definitely one to remember.
What trips have you gone on/do you plan to go on with your unlimited PTO?
Last summer for PTO, I went on a road trip to Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon. This year, I’m heading up north and road-tripping to Portland. It’ll be my first time there, so I’m excited! I can’t wait to check out the hot springs.
Would you rather fight 100 duck sized horses, or one horse sized duck?
I would fight one horse-sized duck. When the duck is defeated, I would make good use of the carcass. First I would de-feather the duck and create fluffy blankets with the down feathers. Next, I would roast the duck to create one of my favorite traditional Chinese dishes: Peking duck!
Hot dogs or hamburgers?
Polish dogs! I like the ones from Costco.
What’s your favorite thing on your desk?
My favorite items on my desks are the miniature 3d printed figurines that my friend gave me that sit along the top of my Apple monitor.
What is your favorite thing to do outside of work?
My favorite thing to do outside of work is exploring food joints and bars and writing reviews of on Yelp. I wouldn’t say I’m a foodie per se, but I do like checking out places that are new or places that have good ratings. If you’re interested in checking out my Yelp, here’s the link.
