One key to rule them all…

If you’re like me, you spend 90% of your day with your head buried in Excel spreadsheets. The faster you can navigate around the program, the quicker you can finish the project at hand, and the quicker you can get to work on your infinite backlog of tasks. If you have already mastered the standard program shortcuts, it’s time to throw away your mouse for good and turn your all-seeing eye towards the all-powerful Alt key.
Press it. Go ahead, press it. Now look at the Excel ribbon. See all those letters? Press one. Get the idea?
The Alt key allows you to control all aspects of the Excel interface, including actions that have no pre-defined keyboard shortcut. Just press ‘Alt’, then press the letter that corresponds to the correct ribbon section, and then another letter to access any actions within that subsection. You now have an unlimited number of keyboard shortcuts at your disposal. Keep in mind that if you have ASAP Utilities or any other Excel add-ins installed, the Alt functionality works with those as well.
Here are a few of my favorites:

-ALT + N + V

-Instantly create a pivot table from the selected range or table. Boom.

-ALT + H + O + I

-Expand all columns from your selected cells.

-ALT + A + M

-Remove all duplicates in your selection.

Try these out, and explore the menu combinations on your own to create any number of powerful shortcuts.
