The results are in from Marin Software’s Biggest Search Geek contest and look who shows up as the #9 biggest search geek – that’s right David R of Pacifica, CA, yours truly!

Now you might think that I’d be content to revel in my top 10 finish, but if you look at the finishers in positions #5 through #8, there’s something amiss – all four finishers are from CT (three from Norwalk, one from Hartford), and all of them scored pretty much exactly the same (three scored the same, one scored .8 points different). You know what they say about things that look like a duck, talk like a duck, and walk like a duck. Or to use this as an excuse to embed one of my favorite songs:

Nice observation. That means I made the top 25. Woo Hoo!

    #28 James S. Minneapolis, MN 61.6

And congrats on the top 9 finish.

Thanks James. Maybe next year the two of us can, um, ‘combine forces’, and beat Team Connecticut!

Hummm… Quite a few groupings of Smart Search Geeks in Seattle, WA, Boston, MA and near Ann Arbor, MI: I guess I am an Analytical Search Geek and an always looking for patterns:)

It was all in fun, but I am a little curious how many of the exact questions were answered the exact same?

The plot thickens! Well the Ann Arbor group could be the Google call center. Seattle I guess could be Microsoft of Amazon, and Boston – maybe its the MIT Blackjack team!

    LOL :)

David contrats I think of you as a top-5 kind of guy and that alone makes me wonder what is going on here!!!

I was #24 as you pointed out – I think I didn’t even get the question about the origins of the name Google…lame…I need to get back to the books to study for next year’s test!!!

Terry we are both top 5ers. Can’t believe you didn’t know the origin of the name though!
